On August 8, 2009, the family of the late Bill and Eva Dunphy will be having a family reunion which will be at the Dunphy family camp on Mattawamkeag Lake, across from the Fish and Game Club building.
Mary (Dunphy) Roberts, who has arrived from Tyler, Texas, will be the co-hostess and the affair will be held at 12 p.m. and will be pot-luck. All Dunphy relatives are very welcome to attend as it will be a great time to talk over old times and renew friendships.
Clayton and Charlene Webb hosted a country jamboree get-together at their home on August 2, with many friends attending. Everyone who played an instrument was there and there was a lot of singing and plenty of laughter during the afternoon, as the affair began at 2 p.m. and continued until 6 p.m.
It was a pot-luck affair and there was food in abundance, with Charlene and Clayton supplying hot dogs and rolls and also dessert. Everyone who is a Jamboree fan certainly had a good time and they look forward to another get-together next year.
While out doing the mowing (between rain showers), discovered quite a few holes on my lawn and I guess the skunks are at it again. Now have the task to going out and filling them in. Have not had good luck with my flowers with all this rain—pansies have been drowned and withered away. And my Sweet William is beginning to die off. Only thing that looks good are my marigolds—-both small and large, They seem to stand the heavy rain better.
Am not feeding the birds now as they seem to be doing all right without. Hopefully, will have a variety of birds again come fall. The black cat is still there for his handout and I think he has discouraged the pigeons as they haven’t been around lately.
