Walking hours
Walking hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center through Sept. 30 are 6 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Funtown/Splashtown and Water Country tickets
Discount tickets for the 2009 summer season are on sale at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. The fee for Funtown/Splashtown combo ticket is $26 each and for Water Country tickets are $28 each.
Outdoor swimming pool
The outdoor swimming pool lesson program will end Aug. 5. General swim will continue through Aug. 7 from 1-4 p.m.
Anyone interested in receiving Red Cross swim cards should bring $3 to the pool and testing will be completed.
Program end dates
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s baseball and softball programs will end July 31. Tennis and arts and crafts will end Aug. 4.
Pee wee soccer
The grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 soccer program is accepting registrations for its upcoming season. The fee is $6.50 and is due at registration, which must be completed in person at the recreation center.
All players registered for the league should plan to meet at the Wellness and Recreation Center on Wednesday, Aug. 12 to meet with coaches, get schedules and review league rules and regulations. Games will begin the week of Aug. 17.
Coaches are also needed for this year’s league. Call 493-4224 if interested in volunteering. A meeting for all prospective coaches will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the Wellness and Recreation Center.
CRX programs
There are still openings for the Deboullie Reserve land trip, set for Aug. 11-13.
The trip is an opportunity to spend a couple nights in the North Maine Woods and find out why people travel from all over to visit this great destination.
Participants will have a chance to bike, paddle, hike and try their luck at fishing.
The program is for youths entering grades 7 or 8. The fee is $30 for residents and $45 for non-residents.
