Houlton’s Gray shoots hole-in-one at Long Lake

The St. John Senior Golf Association held a tournament at Long Lake Country Club on Aug. 19. There were 92 golfers playing, with Dave MacFarlane of Edmundston shooting the low gross score of 68 and Keith Clark of Long Lake taking the low net honors with a score of 57.
    A highlight of the tournament was when Dick Gray of Houlton aced hole no. 14, a par three, which was witnessed by Harold Violette of Long Lake, Cliff Boaz and David King, both of Limestone.
Division A gross winners were MacFarlane; Dave Plourde, Edmundston, 71 and Barry Richardson, AVCC, 73. Net, David Grant, Houlton, 64; Harold Soucy, Presque Isle, 65 and Philip Pelletier, Fort Kent, 67.
Division B gross winners were Marcel Pelletier, Edmundston, 77; Robert Roy, Caribou, 79 and Robert Osterbloom, AVCC, 79. Net, Mike O’Regan, Grand Falls, 65; Elmer Pelletier, Fort Kent, 67 and Michael Gagnon, Caribou, 67.
Division C gross winners were David Dow, Long Lake, 79; Michael Bernard, Presque Isle, 83 and Gerald Gagnon, Grand Falls, 83. Net, Hamish Duncan, Covered Bridge, 64; Mike Vaillancourt, Grand Falls, 67 and Josephel Pelletier, Presque Isle, 68.
Division D gross winners were Ken Fongeamie, Presque Isle, 81; Duncan MacKenzie, Mars Hill, 83 and Robert Lewandowski, Presque Isle, 84. Net, Dana Caron, Limestone, 61; Edmund Albert, Long Lake, 64 and Donald Hanning, Limestone, 66.
Division E gross winners were Tom Kent, Fort Kent, 82; Cliff Boaz, Limestone, 85 and Tom Cyr, Fort Kent, 87. Net, Keith Ireland, Caribou, 61; Gray, Houlton, 64 and Bob Ellingwood, Limestone, 65.
Division F gross winners were Clark, Long Lake, 91; Jim Coster, Edmundston, 93 and Violette, Long Lake, 96. Net, Stephen Walker, VaJoWa, 60; Berend Tepper, Grand Falls, 63 and Ronald Gervais, Long Lake, 65.
