According to Caribou Performing Arts Director Joe Zubrick the dynamic twosome, Montana Skies, will open the CPAC season on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Winners of the Lifestyle Radio music Awards for best new artist of 2004, and Best Contemporary Acoustic Album of 2005, Jennifer and Jonathan Adams create a new acoustic sound with their pairing of cello, six-string electric cello, Spanish/classical guitar and steel-string guitar.
“The Adams delve into music,” stated Zubrick, “from Pink Floyd and Rush to Vivaldi, House of the Rising Sun and Bach, as well as their own award-winning originals that have been featured everywhere from NPR to the Travel Channel.”
“Using a wide range of effects, Jennifer Adam’s blazing electric cello and Jonathan Adams’ guitar wizardry combine to create a sound that is truly remarkable,” continued the CPAC director.
Montana Skies has an extensive tour schedule which has taken them all across the U.S., Canada and to Asia. Tickets for Montana Skies are: $15 for adults; $12 for students and Seniors (60) and $5 for children 12 and under.
“Montana Skies is just the first of our terrific musical offerings in the fall of 2009,” said Zubrick. “October is really exciting, with ‘Music for Life and Hope,’ scheduled for Oct. 10, featuring local artists Elizabeth Rhyno and Jeremy Hale, along with featured guest, gifted singer/songwriter, Mark Shaw.
On Oct. 15, The Caribou Arts Council will be sponsoring, “Los Lonely Boys,” “The Old Time Radio Gang” will be performing on Oct. 16 and on Oct. 24, “Boreal Tordu.”
“On November 7 we have Tim Sample, the Shaw Brothers and Noel Paul Stookey, presented by Cary Medical Center and on Saturday, Nov. 21, “Aztec Two-Step , sponsored by Reg Bennett, a CHS alumni will be featured,” continued Zubrick. “We also have Muse of Fire in late September which deals with the passions of musical conducting and our traditional Thanksgiving offering of ‘The Nutcracker.’ All in all it is a festival of music for the fall,” said Zubrick.
Musical offering are to continue at the Caribou Performing Arts Center in the spring with, “Two Old Friends,” featured in March and “Godspell” and Dave Mallett appearing in April.
