Iola M. Giles

Giles, Iola M., 91, October 29, 2009.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment was held in the Patten Cemetery.
    PATTEN – Iola M. Giles, 91, completed her Earthly journey Oct. 29, 2009, and is now resting in the arms of her Heavenly Father and her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served. She was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Stacyville, the daughter of Charles and Flossie (Reed) McLellan.
    She was the wife of the late Wesley Giles. Her greatest joy was being a mother of seven, grandmother of 18, great-grandmother of 39 and great-great-grandmother of eight. She is loved, honored and held in high esteem for her character, morals and integrity by her family, church family, friends and community.
    She is survived by her seven children, Carolyn Rideout of Shin Pond, Janice Greely and Gary of Cleveland, Tenn., Lois Green and Galen of Island Falls, LeRoy Giles of Patten, Guy Giles and Nicole of Millinocket, Brenda Raymond and Bob of Patten and Phyllis Chambers and Rodney of Island Falls. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
    The family expresses our sincere thanks and appreciation to Diane Lane and Terri Lyons of Visiting Nurses of Aroostook for all their care and support.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Patten Pentecostal Church, where a celebration service of her life was held 2 p.m. Monday with Pastors Frank Randall and Kevin Green officiating.
