Volunteer Firefighter Darren Pelletier, 20, has served with the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department for one year.     A full-time student at UMPI, majoring in pre-medicine biology, Firefighter Darren stated, “I became involved with the fire department because firefighting is a family tradition and I wanted it to continue. I like helping people and this is one way to help. Being firefighters, we try to help save one of the most important objects in people’s lives — their home. I can’t imagine how it would feel to lose a home and am concerned every time there is a fire.
Firefighter Darren is the son of Brian and Karen Pelletier and has one sister, Kaysie. When not involved with his studies or  at the fire department enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, (anything outdoors) and spending time with his family and friends.
The CFD volunteer said his favorite food is Chinese and his least favorite style of music would be Hip-hop/rap.
Firefighter Darren would like community residents to be aware of, “When you see us (Caribou firefighters) responding to a fire, we are thankful when you let us pass by to help others in need.”
