TOUR — The Littleton Elementary Brownie Troop toured Houlton Regional Hospital accompanied by leaders Kathy Burton and Anne Noonan. Making the tour were from left in front, Jennifer Noonan, Margaret Martin, Andrea Burton, Erica Suitter and Darcy Shaw. In back, Angela Violette, Jessica Burton, Amy Carmichael and Chrissy Silliboy.
Local — A number of Deputy Sheriffs called on the druggists in town last week and found liquor in two of the places.
An exchange — Horace G. Bither who has been living on his farm in Linneus has traded with Wilbur Carr who has been conducting a feed store on High Street and they will exchange places, Mr. Bither coming to Houlton and Mr. Carr going to Linneus.
75 Years Ago-Nov. 15, 1934
Houlton Airport — By vote of the special town meeting held at the high school auditorium Saturday morning, Houlton will soon have its much needed and long desired airport with an area of approximately 98 acres and already under the direction of F.E.R.A. authorities, work has begun on the construction of the necessary runways. The site will comprise land from Briggs, Mullins and Harkins farms.
Three elevens — Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hovey of this town are the parents of their 11th child born on the 11th day of the 11th month of the year and he has been named Arthus William.
Post office — Plans and specifications for the new Post Office and government building to be erected on the corner of Court and Military streets have been received by Postmaster Burleigh.

President-elect — Dr. Lewis Denton of Houlton was named president-elect of the New England Veterinary Medical Association at the group’s business meeting in Boston.
Fogg’s — Nearly 300 persons were on hand at the Northland Hotel to help the Almon H. Fogg Co., celebrate its 100 anniversary. Officers of the company are, James M. Pierce, president; Percy H. Campbell, vice-president; Clarence J. Lee, treasurer and Francis M. Pierce, secretary.
Broken Bones Club — This club sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department is for fourth and fifth grade boys and under the direction of Glen Larson, Ricker College student. The boys will participate in organized games, relays, contests, stunts and tumbling.
Cross-country team — Houlton’s harriers placed second in the Class L division for the state-cross-country championship paced by Billy Hanson who finished ninth in the meet. The team had the second best time of 55 teams. Other participants were Nelson Pryor, Justin Williams, Larry Hall, Nelson Ladd, Terry St. Peter and James Chase.
Hodgdon — Six members of the 4-H Happy Homemakers met Oct. 28. Officers are, Linda Hannigan, president; Donna Stewart, flag bearer and vice-president; Leslie London, secretary; Dawn Quint, reporter and Brenda Stewart, treasurer.

Promoted — Dana R. Jewell has been promoted to administrative assistant labor relations for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad.
Good Citizen — Susan Duffy of Katahdin High School has been selected to represent the school as the 1984 DAR Good Citizen.
Traffic light — The Town Council, after seeking for several months to have the State give permission to erect a traffic light at Union Square, almost rejected the offer when it finally came. The Town will put up $2,500 as its share of the $20,000 project.
Downing honored — The Maine Chiropractic Association, represented by Dr. Thomas Chasse of Waterville and Dr. John Redder of Lewiston presented Milton Downing, D.C. with a plaque recognizing his 25 years of service to the chiropractic profession and as a member of chiropractic examiners.
Student returns — Lourdinha Ferreia of Natal, Brazil returned to Houlton after 10 years. Ferreia was an exchange student living with Lloyd and Pat Chase in 1974 and attending Houlton High School. She is now a nurse.
