Michaud faces the fear-mongers

To the editor:
We pride ourselves in Maine as being independent thinkers, yet when the one we put in office to protect our interests goes up against the corporate wealth of the insurance industry (and the politicians on the take from that industry), he is attacked on television by the only weapon left to them in their efforts to defeat genuine consumer-oriented health care reform: lies.     As conservative as Aroostook County can be, we need to stop being stupid. We desperately need better health care here and the competition of a public option to make insurance affordable. A vote against reform is a vote against rural Maine.
Thank you Rep. Michaud for having the courage to do what is best for us, even knowing that it would make you a target of the fear-mongers (with their hands in the insurance industry’s pockets come campaign time).
Now, if we could only get our Senators to take the road less traveled … the one that requires courage.
