Houlton Rec hours changed, weekly activities announced

The Houlton Parks and Rec Department has announced its hours and on going activities for the week of Wednesday, Nov. 18.
    Open gym: Grades 2-12: Wed., Nov. 25, closed for Craft Fair set up; Thurs., Nov. 26, closed Happy Thanksgiving; Fri., Nov. 27, Winter Craft Fair; Sat., Nov. 28, Winter Craft Fair; Sun., Nov. 29, 1-4 p.m.; Mon., Nov. 30, 3-5 p.m.; Tues., Nov.31, 3-4:15 p.m.

Walkers welcome each Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants must wear sneakers in the gym. Free to all participants.
Women’s open gym each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. Cost $2 per person, must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school to participate.
Men’s open gym each Monday and Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. Cost $2 per person, must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school to participate.
Parent and Tot Time each Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-10 a.m. These unstructured times give parents and tot the chance to meet new friends.  Some toys will be provided, but you may bring your own.  Free to all participants.
Rules and general information
Adult and youth supervisors are provided at all open gym and   game room hours. Children in grade 1 or younger must be with an adult to be at the recreation center for open hours.
An adult must accompany any youth in grade 6 or younger to stay past 5 p.m., unless he/she is attending a scheduled activity.  During evening hours, once inside the building he/she must stay in.
Parents will be notified if a youth is asked to leave the recreation center due to inappropriate behavior. There is a phone available to call home for rides.
Most games cost 50 cents to play in game room. Games include ping pong, bumper and regular pool, air hockey, bubble hockey and foosball.
