LINCOLN, Utah – On 31 October Rebecca Currier passed away from an 18 month struggle with ovarian cancer.
Becky was born on 19 March 1930, in the small hamlet of Van Buren, Maine. She was the sixth child of Ray and Gladys Harmon. She moved with her family to Caribou, Maine when she was five years old.
It was in Caribou that she met and married her husband of 59 years, Nathan. Together they had five children, Linda Connell of Erie, PA, Nathan Currier of Salt Lake City, Norman Currier of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Cheryl Kemp of Fargo, N.D. and Stacey DeHart of Layton
In 1950 she graduated from Temple University as a dental hygienist.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bud, Philip and Ray; and her sister, Lucille Vineer. She has one surviving sister, Leota McLean. There are 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Praise and Worship service was held 14 November 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden, Utah.
The family expresses special thanks to Doctors Soisson and Werner as well as the nurses in the Infusion Center at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and the nurses of Intermountain Hospice and Racquel from Comfort Keepers.
