AMHC RIDE GETS UNDER WAY

Andy Santerre returned to Aroostook County to lend his support and his name to the annual Andy Santerre Sno-Run, to benefit AMHC’s Sexual Assault Awareness Services again this year.
The snowmobile ride, dinner and auction — held in Caribou Feb. 6 — set another record this year, raising over $46,000 to aid victims of sexual assault in Aroostook County. Santerre’s guest, Jeffrey Earnhardt — grandson of racing legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. — made his second trip to northern Maine to support the cause. Pictured preparing to take off from the Caribou Inn and Convention Center Saturday morning for a ride north and back were, in the lead, Andy Santerre, followed by Earnhardt and about 140 participants. To the left of the photo Kevin Freeman, owner of The Sled Shop in Presque Isle, gives directions on how to get to the closest gas station to a member of Team Maine Racing.
