The County Spelling Bee was held Feb. 3 at Presque Isle Middle School. Among those participating were, from left: Chaya Karunasini, a school finalist from Caribou Middle School; Matt Theriault, a finalist from Caribou Middle School; and Dylan Conroy, winner of the Woodland Consolidated School spelling bee. Unable to attend the county bee was Jared Fox, Woodland Consolidated School’s runner-up. The County Spelling Bee was won by Joshua Stover from Wisdom Middle/High School, who correctly spelled “hypothesis” in the 14th round to claim the title. Stover will represent Aroostook County in the state spelling bee later this month. Stover also won the County Spelling Bee last year.
