PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Snowmobile Club will be busy this coming week, hosting an open house on Sunday, Feb. 28, and taking part in the OTC Fun Day festivities on Wednesday, March 3.

“The event is free and open to the public. It’s the club’s way of saying thank you to all the support we received, following last year’s fire,” said Norm Driscoll, club president.
Driscoll said there will be a selection of foods and beverages to pick from. Visitors will have an opportunity to check out the newly-built clubhouse.
“Work has been completed and it’s time to show it off. We’re looking forward to it,” said Driscoll.
There is no charge but donations will be accepted.
On Wednesday, club members will team up with the Aroostook Shrine Club for their annual Fun Day at the Shriners’ Houlton Road facility.
“The event puts a smile on the faces of some very special people and snowmobilers alike,” said Dave Steeves, one of the event organizers.
With a little luck, the snow will remain long enough for participants to enjoy a trip around a nearby field, via snowmobile.
“The guests will start arriving at 8 a.m. but the coffee will be on early,” said Steeves. “As always, this is a ride you won’t want to miss. Volunteers are welcome to give us a hand and our guests a ride.”
