PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Several members of the Presque Isle hockey team were acknowledged for their exceptional play on the ice this season by being named Eastern Maine Class B hockey all stars. The awards were presented March 7 in Brewer.
Coach Carl Flynn was named “Coach of the Year,” by his peers, while Shaw was selected as “Player of the Year.”
Named first-team all stars from Presque Isle were: Brennen Shaw, forward; and Steve Ford and Jason Martin, both for defense. Named a second-team all star was Josh MacFarline, goalie; while Zac Campbell, forward, was named third-team all star. Receiving honorable mention was Isaac Lajoie.
Adam Flynn was named to the all-rookie team, while senior all-stars were Shaw, Ford, Campbell, Jason Martin and Mitch Davis. Academic all stars were MacFarline, Caleb Buck, Shaw, Ford, Campbell, Davis and Casey Carson.
Presque Isle reached the Eastern Maine Class B championship game, losing to eventual state champion Brewer, 8-1.
The Wildcats were the No. 3 team in EM following the regular season and defeated Winslow in the semifinal round.
