Junior Olympics a big success
To the editor:
Well, the last athletes, coaches and parents are gone. The venue is quiet and the event is over. But I would like to take a minute to thank all of the many volunteers that came out to help make this event a huge success.
Each time we hold an event such as this, it takes a lot of people to help make it happen. Some of the people get to work at the event and some get to work in the background on other things. Each volunteer, whether it be directly tied to the event or in the background has a part in making the overall event a success. And I am glad to say that it was a huge success because of all of you.
We have since had many e-mails from parents who came to Presque Isle and are telling us that they enjoyed their time here and felt that the event was a big success. At the venue on the last day, a parent came up to me and offered that she had been to six other Junior Olympics and we, by far, had held the best one.
The success of this event was because of all of our volunteers. I think one of the coaches summed it up best when he told me at the closing ceremonies “You guys nailed It.” Thanks to all the volunteers, you really did nail it.
