Scholarship named after Dobson

BREWER – At the March 3 Maine State Nurses Association (MSNA) meeting, directors voted to name a scholarship after the late Holly Sue Dobson of Washburn.
“The Maine State Nurses Association presents nursing scholarships each year,” said Jennifer McManemon, MSNA board member. “Monies raised through a silent auction at our yearly convention fund these scholarships. There are three regions of the state from which recipients are chosen – northern, central and southern Maine.
“The board of directors – representing all the members of the MSNA – is proud to honor Holly and her family by naming the nursing scholarship dedicated to a northern Maine recipient,” she said, “the Holly Sue Dobson Memorial Scholarship.”
Dobson was an active member of the MSNA both at the local level as president of Local 7631, The Aroostook Medical Center, and on the board for MSNA.
“The entire membership of nurses from MSNA was proud to have Holly as a member and a representative of our association,” said McManemon. “Holly brought professionalism and caring to a new level with a smile and kind words for patients, co-workers and the entire medical community.”
    Dobson died Jan. 20, 2010.
