    PRESQUE ISLE — Student-athletes from Presque Isle High School were lauded for the individual efforts in athletics March 8 and 9. The following is a recap of the awards handed out at the event. 

    Receiving jackets (senior athletes lettering in all four years in one sport) were: Hallie Bartlett (skiing), Jacob Brawn (swimming), Zac Campbell (hockey), Casey Carson (hockey manager), Mitch Davis (hockey), Naiomi Donovan (cheering), Steve Ford (hockey), Lorraine Hughes (cheering), Jordyn Kinney (cheering), Jason Martin (hockey), Brennen Shaw (hockey), and Deidre Dicker (basketball manager).
    Receiving sweatshirts (athletes with six varsity letters in any combination of varsity sports) were: junior Shae Adler (soccer, swimming, track and field); and seniors Campbell (golf, hockey, baseball), Donovan (fall cheering, winter cheering), Hughes (winter and fall cheering), Kinney (winter and fall cheering, baseball manager), Bethany Lord (winter and fall cheering), Mike Picard (soccer and basketball manager), and Ethan Braley (basketball, baseball).
    The following awards were also presented on the evening.
    Junior varsity cheering — Receiving certificates were freshmen Amanda Bagley, Paige Beaulieu, Abbie Carrier, Justena Cleveland, Kelsey Corriveau, Rachel Dow, Mary Green, Kennedy Jarvis, Cassie Lunney, Allissa McDougal and Desiree Ouellette; sophomores Kelsey Buck and Mychaela Lunney; and freshman Skylah Gendreau.
    Varsity cheering — Receiving their first-year letter were freshmen Megan Byers and Gabby McCrum; and sophomores Paige Doyen, Brittany Good, Courtney Lyford and Bonnie Zeng. Receiving their second-year letter were sophomore Michaela Powers; juniors Julie Gorneault and Miranda Lovely; and senior Meghan Boucher. Receiving their third-year letter were seniors Kaitlin Calabrese, MacKenzie Lamoreux and Bethany Lord. Receiving their fourth-year letter were seniors Naiomi Donovan, Lorraine Hughes and Jordyn Kinney.
    The Wildcats were Aroostook League Champions for the second straight year; finished third in the Big East; third in the PVC Championship; third in the Eastern Class B finals; and fourth in States. Kinney was named an All-Star Jumper, while Lovely was named an All-Star Tumbler and Calabrese, Lamoreux, Lord, Boucher and Donovan were named All-Star Stunt group.
    Girls swimming — Receiving certificates were sophomores managers Barbara Bonville and Brittany Burlock. Receiving her first-year letter was sophomore Grace Short. Receiving their second-year letters were sophomores Erica Hemphill and Sarah McEachern; and juniors Ashley Burlock and Alecia Palmer. Receiving their third-year letters were juniors Shae Adler, Divya Bisht, Rilee Elliot-Currie, Jesse Lucas and Dara Raymond.
    Several Wildcat swimmers tied or set school records this past season. The 200-yard medley relay team of Adler, Hemphill, Raymond, and Short tied the school record with their time of 2:14.04. The 200 freestyle relay squad of Adler, Short, Hemphill and Raymond set a new school record with a time of 1:59.22.
    Also, Short set a new school record in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.60), while Hemphill set four school records — 50 freestyle (26.85); 100 butterfly (1:09.55); 100 freestyle (1:01.90); and 100 backstroke (1:16.49.)
    Named to the All-Aroostook swim team were: Adler, Eilliott-Currie, Hemphill, McEachern, Palmer, Raymond and Short. State meet participants were Hemphill, Short, Adler, Elliot-Currie and Raymond.
    Boys swimming — Receiving their first-year letters were sophomore Tristan Russell and junior Brock Cassidy. Receiving his second-year letter was junior Locke Robbins. Receiving their third-year letter were junior Stephen Goulet and seniors Kyle Gilson and Ethan York. Receiving his fourth-year letter was senior Jacob Brawn.
    Named to the All-Aroostook swim team for girls were Adler, Elliott-Currie, Hemphill, McEachern, Palmer, Raymond and Short. Hemphill, Short, Adler, Elliot-Currie and Raymond also qualified for the state meet.
    Named to the All-Aroostook swim team for boys were Brawn, Cassidy, Gilson, Goulet, Robbins and Russell. Gilson and Goulet also qualified for the state meet.
    Skiing (girls) — Receiving their first-year letters were freshman Emma Bartlett and sophomore Courtney Colligan; second-year letter, sophomore Chelsey Carroll; third-year letter, junior Julia Brown; and fourth-year letter, senior Hallie Bartlett, who was also named to the All-Aroostook Girls Alpine/Nordic team.
    At the All-Aroostook Skimeister competition, H. Bartlett was third; E. Bartlett, sevevnth; Carroll, eighth; and Gough, ninth. At the state Skimeister event, E. Bartlett was fifth and Carroll seventh. At States, H. Bartlett was fifth in the freestyle.
    Skiing (boys) — Receiving letters were: first-year, freshmen Thomas Freeman, Gabe Player and Jonathan Rochester and seniors Chris Cawley and Adam Curtis; second-year, sophomore Jacob Towle and seniors Nathaniel Postell and Justin Towle.
    Named to the All-Aroostook boys team were Rochester (Nordic) and Curtis (Alpine). At the All-Aroostook Skimeister, Curtis was fourth; Freeman, fifth; and Player, sixth. At the state Skimeister event, Curtis was eighth; Jacob Towle, 10th; Justin Towle, 12th; and Freeman, 13th,
    Ice Hockey — Receiving letters were: first-year, freshmen Carl Benson, Adam Flynn and Scott Rhynold, sophomores Kate Campbell, Cody Merrill and Evan Waddell and junior Derek Sczuroski; second-year, sophomores Nic Davis, Isaac LaJoie and Connor Shaw and juniors Caleb Buck, Jacob Buck, Jordan Hallett and Josh MacFarline; third-year, senior Kacey Wilcox (manager); and fourth-year, seniors Zac Campbell, Mitch Davis, Steve Ford, Jason Martin, Brennen Shaw and manager Casey Carson.
    Named to the Eastern Maine Hockey Coaches Association first team all-stars were: Shaw (forward), Ford (defense), and Martin (defense); second team: MacFarline (goalie); third team, Campbell (forward); honorable mention (LaJoie); all-rookie team, A. Flynn; coach of the year, Carl Flynn; and player of the year, Shaw. Named Senior All-Stars were Shaw, Ford, Martin, Campbell and Davis. Named Academic All-Stars were MacFarline, Buck, Shaw, Ford, Cambpell, Davis and Carson.
    Junior varsity boys basketball Team I — Receiving certificates were: Tyler Brooks, Michael Guerrette, Jonah Stephenson, Corey Willette and Jacob Williams; sophomores Andrew Cash, Matt Eager, Logan Good, Tyler Grant, Andrew Kofstad, Ryley Norton, Cole Richards and manager Hanna Patterson; and juniors Ben McKenna, Logan Thibeau and manager Tyler Eager.
    Junior varsity boys basketball Team II — Receiving certificates were: freshmen Drew Barrett, Corey Belanger, Dakota Fox, Brandon LeBlanc, Griffen Lovely, Khyver Lowe, Craig Nadeau and Jacob Williams; and sophomores Dylan Elliott, Osman Mendieta-Castro, Josh Reed and Brett Wilson.
    Junior varsity girls basketball — Receiving certificates were: freshmen Laurin Ackerson, Liza Buck, Kayla Girardin, Brooke Lovely, Madison Michaud, Kailey Shaw, Samantha Simonds, Kalie Warner and managers Haley Bouchard, Katelyn McPherson and Amelia Sharpe; sophomores Kristin Ackerson, Clarie Cheney, Jessica Dumais, Katie Patenaude and Dani Wolland; and junior Megan Kaiser.
    Varsity girls basketball — Receiving certificates were: freshman manager Kate McKenna; sophomores Casey Bonville and manager Stacia Caron; and junior Chelsea Lynds; first-year letters, freshmen Karlee Bernier, Chandler Guerrette, Megan Ireland and Meredith Stewart and seniors Alicia Kierstead, Kelsey Park and manager Alyssa Huston; second-year letters, sophomores Chelsea Nickerson and Kayla Richards and seniors Krista Coffin, Haley Johnston and Elizabeth Koftstead.
    The following special awards were presented: named to the First Team All-Conference were Guerrette and Richards; Scholar Athlete, Park; Paul Soucy Spirit Award, Kofstad; Defensive Award, Nickerson; Big East Senior All-Stars, Kofstad and Johnston; Big East Coach of the Year, Jeff Hudson; Bangor Daily News All-Tourney Team, Guerrette (first-team), Richards (honorable mention); Senior All-Star Game, Kofstad and Johnston; and All-Aroostook, Guerrette, Nickerson and Richards.
    Varsity boys basketball — Receiving certificates were juniors Edward Escobar and Brandon Gibson; first-year letters, freshman Tyler Brooks, sophomore Wilder York and junior Alex Tuttle; second-year letter, juniors Travis Dyer, Andrew Legassie, Oliver Zubrick and manager Mike Picard, and seniors Ryan Bernier and Keenan Eaton; third-year letters, Nate Ackerson, Braley, Dillon Kingsbury and manger Whitney LaPointe; and fourth-year letter senior manager Deidre Dicker.
    The following special awards were presented: All-Conference first team, Dyer; All-Conference, second team, Ackerson; Scholar Athlete, Bernier; Paul Soucy Spirit Award, Eaton; Defensive Award, Kingsbury; Big East senior all-stars, Ackerson, Braley, Kingsbury; Bangor Daily News All-Tourney team, Dyer (honorable mention); Senior All-Stars, Ackerson, Braley, Kingsbury and Eaton.
