Bellefleur, Amos E., Sr., 84, Limestone, at Caribou, April 1, 2010. Interment will take place later in the spring at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
LIMESTONE – Amos E. Bellefleur Sr., 84, husband of Lucy V. (Wakeling) Bellefleur, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday afternoon, April 1, 2010, at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born November 17, 1925, in Limestone, the son of Edmund and Eva (Mazerolle) Bellefleur. Amos attended Limestone schools and was drafted into the United States Army During World War II and served in the 806th Tank Destroyer Battalion in several campaigns including the Liberation of the Philippine Islands. Amos was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone and a member of the American Legion, O’Bar-Phair Post Number 127, Limestone.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bellefleur was predeceased by his first wife, Loretta J. (Hitchcock) Bellefleur in 1979; four brothers, Roy, Morris, Robert and Phillip Bellefleur; two sisters, Margaret Bellefleur, Dorothy Tarabusi; one step-son, Daniel L. Wakeling. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Lucy V. Bellefleur of Limestone; four sons and daughters-in-law, Amos Jr. “Butch” and Lola Bellefleur of Vero Beach, Florida, Alan and Rose Bellefleur of Montgomery, AL, Michael and Patricia Bellefleur of Macgraw, NY, Gergory and Sandra Bellefleur of Montgomery, AL; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sal Ray Bellefleur of Vero Beach, Florida, Iris and Darrell McCarthy of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, Roxie and Kevin McLaughlin of Vero Beach, Florida; three brothers, and sisters-in-law, Fredrick and Shirley McLaughlin of Springvale, Maine, Gary and Rosa Bellefleur of Stetson, Conrad and Nancy Bellefleur of Pittsfield; four sisters, Marilyn Flannery of Tennessee, Brenda Parent of North Carolina, Bonnie Bouchard of Bristol, CT, Linda Hanson of Waterville; twenty grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends called Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service were conducted at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Interment will take place at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone, later in the spring. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
