Williams, Mary A., 89, PRESQUE ISLE, March 30, 2010. A memorial service will be held at Grant Memorial United Methodist Church at a later date. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Graves Funeral Home.
PRESQUE ISLE – Mary A. Williams, 89, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010. She was born in Houlton, March 17, 1921, the daughter of Ernest B. and Mary (Victory) Anderson.
Mary graduated from Houlton High School and Westbrook Junior College. She served in the WAC for three years during WW II, and married Joseph C. Williams in 1944. She was a member of Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, Past Noble Grand Aroostook Rebekah Lodge and Past Warden Rebekah Assembly of Maine. She was also member of the Presque Isle Curling Club, ladies Afternoon Bowling League, and the Presque Isle Country Club.
Surviving her are three sons, Thomas A. Williams and his wife, Cathy, of Fairfield, Richard J. Williams and his wife, Corinne, of Chandler, AZ, and Jeffery C. Williams and his wife, Danne, of Garland, TX; a daughter, Susan A. Black and her husband, Clayton, of Castle Hill; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Anderson of Houlton, Kenneth Anderson of Florida, and Russell Anderson and his wife, Carolyn, of Idaho; and a special friend, Ella Stevens, of Presque Isle.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1979; sisters, Ruth Tingley and her husband, Clifford, Geraldine (Gerry) Fish, and Florence Burtchell.
