Five new queens crowned at pageant

The annual Easton pageant was held on April 17, with five new queens crowned. The director of the pageants was Kyla Legassie and the assistant director was Shawna Good.
The pageant started out with the opening number that all the contestants participated in which was “Vogue” by Madonna. A farewell talent was done by Little Miss Easton 2009, Alexis Hayes. Alexis did a monologue written by her nana. Alexis is the daughter of Ryan and Karen Hayes.
Next, contestants all sported their casual wear to the music of “Let’s Get the Party Started” by Pink. A farewell talent was performed by Jr. Miss Easton 2009 Caitlyn Monroe. Caitlin played the piano, performing “Spanish Dance.” She is the daughter of Mike Monroe and Pamm Haskell.
The farewell walk of Little Miss Easton 2009 was done. Alexis was escorted by her dad.
The next portion of the pageant was the talent portion. First was Alyssa Nichole Tilley singing “Amazing Grace.” She is the daughter of Cory and Tanya Tilley.
Next was Anna-Marie Tompkins doing a dance routine to “Hoe-Down Throw-Down” by Miley Cyrus. She is the daughter of Sam and Lisa Tompkins.
Performing next was Breann Marie Clayton singing “Outside My Window” by Sarah Buxton. She is the daughter of Jody and Toni Clayton.
The next talent contestant was Stephanie Hammond dancing to “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus. She is the daughter of Kim and Doug Hammond.
Mikaela Page Hathaway performed a dance routine to “Butterfly Fly Away” by Miley Cyrus and choreographed by Emily Rooney. She is the daughter of Tracy and Larry Hathaway.
Acacia Kimball played a musical selection on the piano, “River Flows Through You” by Yiruma. She is the daughter of Cindy and Jeff Kimball.
Performing a monologue entitled “My Mom Would Never Say This” was Ali Dusza. Ali is the daughter of Pamm Haskell and Michael Monroe.
Singing “Stupid Cupid” by Connie Francis was Brooke-Ann Hammond. She is the daughter of Kim and Doug Hammond.
After the talent portion of the evening, the farewell walk was done by the Jr. Miss Easton Caitlin Monroe, escorted by her dad.
Taylor Burtt, Miss Easton 2009, performed her talent and did a monologue titled “Two Rules To Know As Queen.” This was written by Taylor Burtt. Taylor is the daughter of Ali and Heidi Burtt.
The evening gown competition wrapped up the evening to the song, “She’s Like the Wind.” Miss Easton 2009, Taylor Burtt, did her final walk as Miss Easton and was escorted by her dad, Ali.
The presentation of the winning queens was made. Little Miss Easton was won by Alyssa Tilley. Pre-Teen Easton was won by Breann Clayton. The title of Jr. Miss Easton was presented to Stephanie Hammond. Miss Teen Easton was won by Acacia Kimball. Brooke-Ann Hammond won the title of Miss Easton.
A special thanks to Cody Tompkins and Luke Budreau who were the escorts for the evening. They did an awesome job, too.
ATV safety course
An ATV safety training course is being held May 5 and 6 at the Odd Fellow’s Hall 23 Station Rd. in Easton. All individuals 10-15 years of age are encouraged to attend. Anyone interested please call Harold Kierstead 488-6853 or Budd Nicholson at 488-6822. This course is sponsored by the Easton ATV Club.

April 29 is a birthday day for: Nichole Dudley, Diane Holmes and Mary Holmes.
On April 30, Julie Horton, Shelley Clark, Lorraine Wilcox and Hailey Ireland will be celebrating their birthdays.
On May 1, Marie Donnarummo and Wayn e Patterson have a birthday.
May 2 will see Cheryl Fogarty, Tanesha Desmond and Ellen Nadeau celebrating birthdays.
On May 3, Travis Carter, Becky Blodgett, Matthew Beaton, Drew Sotomayer, Amanda Beyeler, Terry McMahon and Megan Blosser will all be a year older.
On May 4, Gladys Horn, Barb Alexander and Julie Sotomayer all have birthdays. Also on May 4, Sheila and Oran Holmes have an anniversary.

Nina Trask has been a patient at EMMC. She was flown down to Bangor in the helicopter. She had suffered a heart attack and had a stent put in. She is recovering at home and feeling much better. We wish you all the best, Nina.
