Another busy year planned at The Forum

IN THE CITY

by James F. Kaiser

What is happening at The Forum this summer? So far this spring we have had six outstanding events, the Musical on Ice, McCluskey’s RV & Trailer Show, The Agri-Business Trade Fair, the Kiwanis Home & Garden Show and The Forums Spring Open Market and Spring Trash & Treasure Sale. We are getting ready for our summer season and we have a few changes to report.

May 6 through 8 will showcase the annual Anah Temple Shrine Circus with all the acts and thrills people have come to enjoy. Following the Circus, on May 15 and 16 will be a new event; the Spud Speedway Motor Sports Show. This event will feature race cars and drivers as well as monster trucks and much more!
The summer ice season also has a new format; it has been expanded to four weeks from the usual two, June 19 to July 17. We are hoping the change will allow us to offer this service to a broader audience.
The Northern Maine Fair will close out July, being held July 30 thru August 7 during which time The Forum will host several events. August also holds the possibility of a Christian concert and/or a blues festival, nothing concrete but we are working on it. The Presque Isle Kiwanis Club in concert with Key Bank plan to hold their Children’s Fun Day at The Forum on Aug. 28th, during the Balloon Fest at the fairgrounds.
September had to be re-arranged due to the Fireman’s Muster which will feature Bob Marley at The Forum on the 11th for an 8:30 p.m. show; tickets are available now! Citadel will hold its annual Women’s Expo the 18th and 19th followed by The Forum’s Fall Trash & Treasure Sale on the 25th and 26th.
October will begin with NMCC and WAGM TVs annual presentation of the Fall & Winter Expo on the 2nd and 3rd and last but not least the Forum’s Fall Arts, Crafts & Collectibles Fair on the 9th and 10th.
The following week is a quick transition to an ice arena and summer is over! We at The Forum are looking forward to this year’s events and are proud to be able to host such a diverse schedule.
