Student short films featured

    PRESQUE ISLE — The  Fine Art Department of the University of Maine at Presque will host the first annual Fiddlehead Film Festival, beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, in UMPI’s Wieden Auditorium. Short films, each 15 minutes or less, representing the work of students in the University’s ART 235-Video Production course, have been selected to be showcased.  Spring Strings concert

    Live classical music returns to the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Wieden Auditorium with the second annual Spring Strings concert by students of Dr. Anatole Wieck, professor of upper strings at the University of Maine in Orono, at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 14. Wieck’s students will perform their year-end recital and Wieck will play a collaborative improvisational piece with local musician Carol Ayoob during the performance.
    Tickets for the show are $10/adults, $2/students, free to UMPI, NMCC and SAGE students with ID. FMI, call 768-9452.
