F.A. Peabody Company announces promotions

    HOULTON — F.A. Peabody Company (FAPCO) President Christopher Anderson announced the promotion of Peter Holmes to the position of chief financial officer for the company. “CFO responsibilities require the versatility and clarity to grapple with complex financial and organizational transactions. Peter has such skill and FAPCO is blessed to have him on board,” stated Anderson.

    Holmes, a member of the executive management team, makes input on various topics such as accounting, human resources and payroll. He was hired in 2005 to oversee the company’s accounting department, having spent the previous two years as information systems administrator for the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians. His prior experience includes 13 years as the controller for Houlton International Corporation until it closed in 2002.
    He lives in Houlton with his wife, Belinda, and their two sons, Ethan and Aaron.
Henderson new VP of HR
    Anderson also announced that Chelsea Henderson has been promoted to the position of vice president of human resources. “Chelsea possesses fantastic people skills with focus and determination. We are fortunate to have her as part of FAPCO’s executive management team,” said Anderson.

    She began working for the company as the receptionist in 2004 and was promoted to administrative assistant to the president in 2006. In 2008, Henderson was promoted to manager of human resources and appointed as corporate secretary and clerk for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
    Henderson is a graduate of Hodgdon High School. She received her associates of arts degree in business from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 2007. And, she completed her human resource management certificate from the University of Maine in Augusta in 2009. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management at the University of Maine in Augusta.
    She is a former president and current member of the National Association of Insurance Women. Henderson resides in Hodgdon with her husband, Josh.

    Benjamin Lynds was also among the recent staff promotions announced by Anderson and assumes the position of vice president of information systems at FAPCO.
    Lynds began his career in 2003 as a technician for Pioneer Broadband, a subsidiary of the FAPCO. Until 2005 he worked in customer service for Pioneer, while also handling the majority of FAPCO’s in-house information systems support.
    In 2005, Lynds was promoted to the full-time systems manager position for FAPCO overseeing the information system software and hardware requirements for all its offices. In 2008, Lynds was promoted to information systems administrator assuming additional responsibility for disaster recovery and system capital budgeting.
    In his new position, Lynds will be responsible for overseeing all automation-related functions of the company. Anderson said: “I am extremely pleased at Ben’s growth at FAPCO earning him a place at the executive management team.”
    Lynds holds an associates degree in computer electronics from Northern Maine Technical College. And, this year he earned the designation as Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Enterprise Administrator.
    He resides in Monticello and is engaged to Sarah Cyr.
