Katherine (Kate) Mary Anderson, 35, died May 28, 2010, at a Waltham, Ma. hospital surrounded by her friends and family. She was born October 15, 1974, in Houlton, Me., the daughter of B. Duane Anderson and Mary (Callnan) Brockway.
Kate attended the University of MA graduating with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology in 1998. In 2002, she graduated with a M.S. in Administrative Studies-Public Relations/Marketing from Boston College. She was an avid sports competitor, coaching many softball teams and playing on various teams in Maine and Mass. Kate will be especially remembered for her passion to play sports, her ability as an athlete and her loyalty as a colleague and friend. Her most recent professional position was working as an Independent Fitness Coordinator working with Alzheimer and Dementia patients.
She is survived by her parents, Mary C. Brockway of Bangor and B. Duane Anderson and his wife Carolyn of Littleton; brother, David Anderson of Littleton; sister, Elizabeth Leonard of Brewer; half-siblings, Megan, Bernadette and Jeremy Anderson of Littleton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Kate’s family would like to thank all those who visited Kate in the hospital during her illness. A very special appreciation goes out to many family members and close friends who brought such joy to her face, and those who were at her side during her final days.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Littleton Cemetery Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steven Straubel officiating. A reception will follow at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowmobile Club. In the event of inclement weather, services will be held at the Littleton Baptist Church.
