JUST A TRIM — Randy Reeves of Ludlow gets a trim from Nancy Lynch, owner of Broadway Cuts in Houlton, June 10. Lynch opened her new barber shop/salon on Broadway Street across from the Cary Memorial Library.

“I started out as a hairdresser for women, but found I now enjoy cutting men’s hair,” Lynch said. “You hear a lot of great stories, but some of the men like to just sit there and relax when getting their hair cut.”
Working with Lynch is hairdresser Jessica Stedt. Broadway Cuts also hopes to add more beauticians in the near future to specialize on women’s styles.
Lynch has done extensive renovations to her shop. The location has been a tattoo parlor, used clothing store, pizza shop, beauty salon and an apartment over the years. Before she opened her business, extensive work was done to repair damage to the walls and floors.
“It was in really rough shape, but the location is perfect,” Lynch said. “It’s a high-visibility spot for sure.”
Broadway Cuts is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made in advance by calling 532-6500, but are not necessary. Walk-ins are highly encouraged.
