Eastern Star holds installation of officers in Ashland

    Tillikum Chapter 99 of The Order of the Eastern Star held its installation of officers Tuesday, April 13 at the Masonic building in Ashland. The following officers were installed: Heather and Roy Clark as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron, Sheila Buckingham and Marshall White as Associate Matron and Associate Patron, Frieda Dickinson, secretary; Artemas Coffin, treasurer; Rosemary Coffin, conductress; Andrea White, associate conductress; Herb Klei, chaplain; Cheryl O’Clair, marshal; Rachel Stevens, organist; Judie MacDonald, Adah; Melanie Baker, Ruth; Rhoda Thombs, Esther; Jody Reese, Martha; Janis MacDonald, Electa; Hallie Baker, Warder; and Patricia Rafford, Sentinel. 

    Hallie Baker presented a Starpoint Ceremony. Soloists for the evening were Melanie Baker and Patricia Rafford.
    The Installing Suite for the event included members of Lunar Chapter of Presque Isle. Officers were Leighton Perkins, assisted by Barbara Perkins. Installing Chaplin Charlene Buzza, Installing Marshall Brenda Hall, and Installing Organist Gretchen Brissette completed the Installing suite. After the ceremony there was a time of fellowship and refreshments in the dining hall.
    The Order of the Eastern Star is part of the family of Masonic fraternal organizations.
    Upcoming events include a “Picnic Basket Raffle” during Ashland Days.
    There is over $100 worth of items in the basket. Tickets will be sold at one chance for $1 or three chances for $2. The basket will be on display at the Sure Fine Store. Tickets can be purchased from any member and also at the store. For further information, contact Andrea White at 435-6363.
    Don’t forget the Craft and Flea Market this Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. held at the Masonic building on Plum Street.
    There will be a food table with a variety of homemade goods and soup to go. All proceeds will benefit the chapter’s charitable endeavors within the community. Vendor tables are still available to sell your crafts and wares.
