PINNED – Ted Bowers received the highest Scouting honor, as his mother, Carmel, attaches his Eagle pin. Bowers is a third generation Eagle Scout.

To earn Scouting’s highest honor, Bowers had to earn 22 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop and complete a community service project.
Bowers’ service project can be seen on Walker Settlement Road and the Dow Farm Road. Leading eight Scouts and adults, Bowers constructed two multi-unit mailbox condos that serve between 45-75 households. This project took more than two months to complete.
Bowers had to get approval from his Scout Council, as well as the U.S. Post Office and also from the town of Island Falls. He had to write up all the steps of the project, as well as funding and the time involved.
Bower’s was able to complete the project through the donation of S.W. Collins, who provided all the materials necessary.
Bower’s ceremony was conducted by Dwight Camp, committee member of the Green Mountain Council in Woodstock, Vt. Camp, who is a close family friend, is also an Eagle Scout. Matt Ghirarda, representing the North Star Council, opened the Court of Honor.
The Voice of the Eagle was Bower’s cousin, Devon Cafazzo, an Eagle Scout from Manchester, Conn. and presiding as Scout Master was Peter Cafazzo, Bowers’ uncle and Eagle Scout from Coventry, Conn.
