CARIBOU — Caribou sports participants were honored for their efforts on the baseball/softball diamond, tennis courts and track this spring.
Caribou High School athletes were honored recently for the 2010-11 sports season. Among the athletes honored were, from left, Brittany Doak, Outstanding Senior Female Athlete; Finn Bondeson, Jack Gardiner Memorial Scholarship (boys); Abby Small, Jack Gardiner Memorial Scholarship (girls); Jared Sleeper, Paul Soucie Award (boys); Danielle Soucy, Paul Soucie Award (girls) and Cameron Anderson, Outstanding Senior Male Athlete.
Viking senior Brittany Doak was named Outstanding Senior Female Athlete, while Cameron Anderson received the Outstanding Senior Male Athlete award. Finn Bondeson and Abby Small each received the Jack Gardiner Memorial Scholarship, while Jared Sleeper and Danielle Soucy were recipients of the Paul Soucie Award. The Paul Soucie Scholarship is for fair play and dedication to the athletic program, while the Jack Gardiner Award is for the outstanding scholar athlete.
Receiving the Dwight P. Hunter Athletic Achievement Award, given to seniors who participate in fall, winter and spring sports for all four years of their high school career, were: Ethan McDuffie (soccer, skiing, baseball), Tim Freme (cross country, skiing and track), Bondeson (cross country, skiing and track), Elizabeth Barbosa (soccer, skiing and tennis), Doak (soccer, basketball and softball), Soucy (soccer, basketball and softball), Jared Sleeper (soccer, skiing and track), Anderson (soccer, basketball and baseball), Ted Walker (soccer, basketball and baseball), and Evan Susee (soccer, basketball and baseball).
