Free summer meals available to children
SAD 1 Food Service Department is offering a Summer Food Service Program through Aug. 6. This program is administered nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Services. It was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals during summer school vacations. All children 18 and under are eligible and are encouraged to participate in this free breakfast and lunch program. No pre-registration or proof of income is required.
Presque Isle meal distribution sites include: Birch Street Apartments, Ray View Manor, Exchange Street, Helen Noreen Apts., Mic Mac Housing playground, PIHS cafeteria, Presque Isle outdoor pool, Pine St. Elementary and Riverside Park.
There are also single locations in Bridgewater and Easton.
No meals will be served on Monday, July 5. Federal regulations and proper sanitation practices require that all meals must be eaten at the delivery site.
