At the recent annual board meeting of the Health Services Foundation the following new officers were elected: Robert D. Ellis, O.D., president; Walter H. Goodrich, Goodrich Jewelry, vice-president and Maurice Q. Merett, treasurer/clerk. John Billings
Foundation officials also announced the addition of five new members to its board of trustees: John Billings, Becky Day, Frank DiStefano, Jessie Drysdale and Sarah Foster.
Billings, a native of Aroostook County, is the manager of the Houlton Walmart store. For the past 18 years he has worked for Walmart. He has managed the Houlton store for the past five years. Previously, he was co-manager in the Presque Isle store. Billings has been a member of the Houlton Chamber of Commerce for the past five years and a board member for two local ATV clubs.
Billings attended Northern Maine Community College where he earned a degree in accounting in 1994. He resides in Presque Isle with his wife, Amy and two daughters, Taylor, 10 and Paige, 6. Billings enjoys a very active family life as well as fly fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time at the lake with his family. Becky Day
Day, born in Monti-cello, graduated from Houlton High School in 1968. She worked for Barnes Law Office and later for Severson Hand & Nelson until 1978. She also ran a daycare at her home for 6 years.
Since 1985 she has been involved in real estate and is currently the owner of First Choice Real Estate. Day has two daughters Jessica and Kristin. Jessica is married to Brady Fitzpatrick of Littleton and Kristin is married to Matt Hogan of Houlton. Day enjoys spending time with her family, quilting, and traveling. Frank DiStefano
DiStefano, born in East Hampton, Conn. has lived in the Houlton area since he was 2 years old. He graduated from Houlton High School in 2000 and has been the assistant manager at Rite Aid for the last five years.
DiStefano is a member of the Elks Club. For the last four years he has run the men’s basketball league at the Houlton Parks and Recreation Center. For the last three years he has helped run the Brandon Cottle Memorial Hoops Tourney which support a scholarship at Houlton High School. DiStefano resides in Houlton with his wife Rachel. Jessie Drysdale
Drysdale, born in Framingham, Mass., was ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church in May of 2003, and has served as deacon at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Houlton, for seven years. She is an accredited chaplain at Eastern Maine Medical Center and has served as chaplain for Hospice of Aroostook for four years. She is a member of the Southern Aroostook Ministerial Association.
Drysdale has been and continues to be the liaison between the ministerial association and Houlton Regional Hospital for the hospital chaplaincy service. She presently serves as vice president of Houlton Regional Hospital’s board of trustees.
Drysdale and her husband David reside at East Grand Lake, Weston. They have two children, Beth D. Blue and David T. Drysdale II.. Beth is married to David Blue of La Mesa, Calif. and they have two sons. David and his wife, Karen, live in Columbia, S.C. Sarah Foster
Foster, born in Houlton, was raised in Guilford, and has been the store manger for Marden’s in Houlton since 2006. She was also lead customer relations representative at Key Bank, Presque Isle from 2005-06 and manger of the framed arts department of World Over Imports in Bangor from 2003-05.
She has been involved in fundraising efforts of multiple causes that have benefited children or community health and wellness groups, and will continue those efforts for the Health Services Foundation. Foster and her husband Doug attended the University of Maine in Orono and have resided in Houlton since 2006. They have one daughter, Laurel, who was born in 2008 very shortly after the couple bought their first home.
