Presque Isle Fair prices some out
To the editor:
After receiving my copy of the weekend edition of the Bangor Daily News — complete with the Bangor State Fair supplement, which on the cover states: “$10 dollar admission — includes all rides and shows!”, makes me question the Presque Isle Fair’s price … and the “all rides pass” of $20 doesn’t include the cost of admission.
It seems unfortunate that instead of pricing that would bring people into the town and possibly shop before the fair opens, that the pricing may cause some people to consider that “day out” in Bangor at a fair with bigger shows, more rides, and more shows. Sorry, Presque Isle, you really should consider what Bangor did last year: They lowered the price of the fair, with the hope that more people would show up. And they did — some even went more than one day.
Come on, Presque Isle, making a fair more affordable would be the decent thing to do, and more than likely make more sense (cents).
