Madawaska Lake and Caribou – Esther M. Caldwell, 82, died peacefully July 23, 2010, after a long illness at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.
She was born in Portage August 9, 1927, the daughter of the late Jared and Verlie (Labbe) Tozier. She graduated from Madigan Memorial Hospital and the University of New Brunswick with a degree in nursing. She was employed at various facilities as a Registered Nurse for many years and truly loved her profession.
She had lived at Madawaska Lake and Caribou prior to moving to western Maine several years ago.
Esther is survived by her sister Ruth Cunningham and husband Kenneth of Bryant Pond, nephews Paul Cunningham and his wife Lynn of Arrowsic and Craig (Pete) Cunningham and wife Lora of Kennebunk.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Interment will be in the old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
