Last week’s Twilight League saw the team of Bill Boulier and Greg Douglas pick up yet another win in the National League to improve their record to 4-0-1. Jim Dyer and Chet Chase are three points back, with a record of 3-2. In the American League, anyone is positioned to finish at the top of the standings come year end. Currently the teams of Dave Dubois/Eric Morris, Scot Walker/Jon Smallwood and Steve Merry/Steve Edwards are tied at the top with 3-2 records for a total of six points, while everyone else currently has four points. Two weeks remain in the regular season.
Couples played a modified scramble this week and Greg and Sara Douglas came out victorious. Coming in second place were Stuart and Becky Kelley, while Bev Osborn and Greg Gayne rounded out the top three. Couples League is open to anyone, and plays at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoons.
As a part of Island Falls’ Summerfest celebration, VaJoWa will be the site of fireworks and a live concert by Murfy’s Law. This will take place on Friday, July 30 from roughly 8 p.m. to midnight.
