Job Corps students and faculty follow the bouncing ball in a volleyball game during the July 23 Fun Day.
According to staff members, Job Corps employees decided to throw a “party” for the students in order to express how much the students were missed and how excited the faculty is to have the students return in the middle of the summer to resume their education and vocational classes, stating that the dedication of the students is a success for all involved.
The afternoon’s activities consisted of music, dancing, volleyball, basketball, face painting, pie-eating contests and other fun activities. The center provided students with an outside banquet of a traditional summertime barbeque. According to Loring officials, students and staff enjoyed the wonderful weather and the opportunity to socialize.
The Loring Job Corp Center is a comprehensive career technical training and education center program for students ages 16 to 24 that will prepare and train students to obtain skills and jobs in the current market at no cost to the student or their family.
