WINNERS – The Braves of the Houlton Men’s Softball League were runners-up in the Class E state championship played in Ellsworth. They won their first game and lost their second before playing six straight games to earn their way into the finals. In the championship game, the Braves defeated the Young Guns of Ellsworth in the fifth inning with the run rule in effect. With each team losing once, the teams met again and the Braves fell 6-5. The Braves came in second out of 10 teams. Playing for the Braves are, from left, front, Aaron Brown, Cliff Urquhart, Aaron Greenlaw, Brian Andrews and Jordan Guy; back, Aaron Urquhart, Mitchell Clayton, Jason Clayton, Jim Gravel, Jerry Hanning, John Mooney and Danny Scott.
