Summer rec coming to end

    The schedule for Easton Recreation Center activities for the coming week includes: Wednesday, July 28 — Field Trip to Megiddo Paintball.  The bus departs at 9:50 a.m. and will return around 2 p.m. Cost: $15 (ages 11 and under) and $25 (ages 12 and up).  The younger group will go on a paintball safari and use super soakers (two hours). The older group will play scenario paintball (three hours). Birth certificate and release form required to cross the border. Major League baseball semi-finals, detail TBA. Tee-ball practice at 6:30 p.m. on the field behind the high school. 

    Thursday, July 29 — Day Camp from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hall. The theme is Halloween. Please wear a costume. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. “Hike and swim” from 12-4:15 p.m. We will be hiking Mars Hill Mountain. Be sure to have sneakers, socks, swim suit and towel. Minor League game in Mars Hill at 5:45 p.m.  We will carpool at 5:10 p.m. or be at the field at Mars Hill High School by 5:30 p.m.   
    Friday, July 30 — Swim lessons at the Presque Isle Indoor Pool. The bus departs at 8:35 a.m. and will return around 10:15 a.m. Pre-registration required. Play group at the Hall from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Open to children ages two through entering kindergarten. 
    Saturday, July 31 and Aug. 1 — White Water Rafting trip to the Forks, Maine. The cost is $85. Please contact Hillary for more information at eastonrec@myfairpoint.net. 
    Monday, Aug. 2 — Wilderness Camp from 1-5 p.m. on the Ladner Road. Pre-registration required; the cost is $30. 
    Tuesday, Aug. 3 — Wilderness Camp from 8 a.m. to noon on the Ladner Road. End of Summer Barbecue at the Hall at 5:30 p.m. Everyone who participated in any summer recreation program is invited to attend. Children should wear one of their summer shirts (baseball, Hershey, green, etc). Please bring a salad or dessert to share. Drinks and hotdogs provided.

    Pictured here is Anna Sherwood in front of the Easton Bears drawing she did as part of an art project. This is in the Easton Elementary School Gymnasium. The bear is a great asset to the school. Anna did a great job.
