Auditions scheduled
for Players’ fall musical production
PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle Community Players are pleased to announce a dinner theatre musical review of traditional North American folk music will be held Nov. 5-6 and 12-13 in the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Campus Center. Show times, dinner menu, ticket prices and where tickets can be purchased will be announced soon.
Each evening’s performance promises something for everyone, from traditional folk songs from the ‘20s and ‘30s, to a wide variety of music from the folk revival of the ‘50s and ‘60s including songs by the Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, the Weavers, and many other popular folk artists.
If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of the production, you’re invited to attend the open auditions taking place Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 10 and 11 and Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the Aroostook Centre Mall from 6-8 p.m. Come prepared to sing a song in the traditional folk genre or play a traditional folk instrument.
The Presque Isle Community Players was incorporated in July of 1989 as a non-profit organization, established for charitable, benevolent, educational, and professional purposes. As stated in the organization’s bylaws, “The purpose is for literary and cultural activities — fostering and developing an interest in theatre and its related activities, both for local audiences and for interested performers.”
