Peanut Carnival candidates

TO BE CROWNED — The “Just For Kids” summer playground, sponsored by the Houlton Parks and Recreation Department, will be holding its annual Peanut Parade and Carnival today at 10 a.m. and the Peanut Carnival will be tomorrow, Aug. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Street tennis courts. In case of rain, the activities will be moved inside at the rec center. The highlight of the evening at 8 p.m. will be the crowning of the 2010 Peanut King and Queen at the Houlton Recreation Department’s gymnasium. Last year’s King. Mitchell Bragan and Queen, Tessa McCormick will crown this year’s winner from the following age groups, from left to right, front, Troy Hipsley and Aliya Webber, 5-6; back, Samantha Condon and Joshua Hall, 7-8; Isaiha Littleton and Tessa Roshto, 11-13 and Jessica Geiger and Jacob Geiger, 9-10.
