Monica’s Scandinavian Imports located at 176 Sweden Street in Caribou, continues to be one of the most popular specialty retail shops in the area. In operation since 2004, shop owners Carl and Lisa Soderberg and Megan Olson strive to import a very diverse  inventory of Nordic and Scandinavian gift items and clothing.

Five years ago the Trollbeads made their arrival at Monica’s and since then the interest in these unique  beads (which can be worn on bracelets, or neck chains, as earrings or rings; all sold at the gift shop) continue to be one of the most popular items customers purchase.
Monica’s also features Orrefors crystal, Dale of Norway wool ski sweaters, Dansko clogs, antique Danish iron candle holders; an array of candles in all shapes and sizes; as well as a wide selection of linens from Scandinavia.
Proprietor Megan Olson feels very strongly that one of the reasons for the success of the shop is its unique collection of gifts, ranging from jewelry to specialty Scandinavian foods. Upon entering the small specialty shop, customers immediately feel at home and enjoy perusing the many gift items attractively displayed throughout both levels. Of course the friendly, knowledgeable staff is one more factor in the pleasing shopping experience.
Monica’s also offers free gift wrapping, bridal registry and unique greeting card lines by Caspari, Pictura and Patience Brewester, among others.
Monica’s is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information go to www.monicasimports.com or call 493-4600.
