PORT ORANGE, FL – Bernice Juliette Duffy, age 76, surrounded by her family at Volusia Hospice, Port Orange, Florida, went home to be with God on June 16th, 2010. Born on November 4, 1933 in Eagle Lake, Maine, Bernice, affectionately known as “Bunny”, had been residing in Port Orange for the last 10 years. She will always be remembered by her family for her beautiful smile and unconditional love.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, and her children, William and his wife, Maria, and Michael, of Portland, Maine; Diane Hiscoe and her husband, George, of Houlton, Maine; Ruthann and her husband, Steven, of Seattle, Washington; 7 grandchildren, Erica, Sam and Hannah, of Houlton, Lindsay and James of Portland, and Madison of Seattle; 2 special “daughters” Betty Jo Kemper and Terry Kenney, and her siblings, Ernest King and his wife, Ann; Shirley Shaw, and Evangeline Rooney.
She was predeceased by her parents, Cecelia and George Voisine; her brothers Patrick and Joseph King; her sister Mary; and her two sons, James and Thomas, and her grandson, Christopher Hiscoe.
A reception will be held in her memory on Thursday, September 2 at the Houlton Wesleyan Church from 5-7 p.m. There will also be a Christian burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough, ME on Wednesday, September 8 at 11 a.m.
