Irene Wilson, 97, of Portsmouth, RI, and formerly of Presque Isle and Portage, died August 17, 2010. She was born in Drummond, N.B., Canada, on May 17, 1913, the daughter of John and Anna (Page) Deschene. Irene was the wife of the late Finley McIntosh and Milton Wilson. Irene was a loving caregiver to her family members and friends. She was an exceptional homemaker and baker, and was well-known for her breads and pies. Irene enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
Irene is predeceased by her parents, John and Anna; both husbands; a daughter, Dawn Michaud; a grandson, Barry; two brothers; and a sister.
Irene is survived by granddaughters, Beth and her husband James Appleton of Portsmouth, RI, Laurie and her husband Michael DiPalma, of Pittsfield, NH; a brother, Roland Deschene and his wife Esther, of Hampden, ME; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
An hour of visitation was held Sat., Aug. 21, at 9:30 a.m., at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle. A graveside service followed at 11 a.m., at Union Cemetery in Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be made at www.duncan-graves.com.
