    RYDER, Alma W., 85, WESTFIELD, at Presque Isle, October 11, 2010. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, October 14, at the Old Fashioned Revival Center, Blaine. Interment will take place at King’s Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.


 

    WESTFIELD – Alma W. Ryder, 85, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010, at a Presque Isle nursing home.
    She was born May 14, 1925, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Leo Clinton and Olive Edna (Boyd) Fulton. Alma worked for many years as a trimmer at Vahlsings and then at Potato Service. She loved to travel with her husband, Charles and made trips all over the United States and to the eastern provinces of Canada. Alma enjoyed embroidery, Find A Words, coloring and eating out.
    She is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Holmes and her husband, Jarvis of Westfield, and Betty Brewer and her husband, Steve of E. Plantation; a brother, Rutherford Fulton and his wife, Teen of Westfield; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Diana “Poozie” Ryder. She also leaves behind a special niece, Cheryl “Chery” McCann; as well as several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Burton Ryder; a son, Charles “Chuck” Ryder; a daughter, Sandra Dumond; a son-in-law, Jake Dumond; two brothers, Burton and Harden Fulton; a grandson, Bill Holmes; and a great-grandson, Ethan Hatt.
    A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Old Fashioned Revival Center, Blaine. Interment will take place following the service at King’s Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle.
