PRESQUE ISLE — Residents of the Star City wanting to learn more about municipal government or wishing to express ideas or concerns will have an opportunity in November to tell Jim Bennett what’s on their mind during the third session of Meet with the City Manager.

This will mark the third one-on-one meeting with citizens Bennett has scheduled since taking office in January. Past events were held at McDonald’s and the Northeastland Café where he met with individuals over breakfast. Continuing with the breakfast-themed sessions, Bennett has set aside Nov. 6 from 7 to 8:30 a.m. to meet the public during breakfast at Gram Russo’s restaurant at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center on Main Street in Presque Isle.
With the recent presentation of the 2011 proposed budget, Bennett indicated this was a “timely opportunity to talk directly with Presque Isle citizens and listen to what they feel is important for the future of our community.”
“The past two Meet the City Manager meetings have been very informative and helpful to me. It’s a great opportunity for citizens and anyone with interest to shake hands and ask questions,” said Bennett.
Presque Isle has a long history of setting standards in the county. Bennett said the city can continue to do so, with input from its citizens.
“The city of Presque Isle has always been a leader in Aroostook County, and with new ideas, thoughts and suggestions from its citizens, the community can be even better,” said Bennett.
As with his past meetings, Bennett is pleased to be able to hold the next gathering at one of the community’s many dining establishments.
“Gram Russo’s restaurant and the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center are a great place to meet with friends. We thank them for hosting this event at their location,” Bennett said.
