    The playoffs are set to begin a week from Friday, on Oct. 22, so local soccer teams are approximately a week away from learning what the final Heal Point standings will be. 

    The top nine boys teams in Eastern Maine Class B and the top 10 in Class D will advance into the post-season.
    Presque Isle is the current No. 1 team in B with their 10-1-1 record and 99.8724 tournament index. The Wildcats are 4.6 points ahead of undefeated and second-place Ellsworth, which defeated the Wildcats in their only meeting. Caribou is 11th at 3-6-3 and has a tourney index of 31.6964. The Vikes still have a chance of getting in with victories in their final two games, including a 7 p.m. home contest against the PI Wildcats next Tuesday, Oct. 19 to end the regular season. Caribou also hosts Fort Kent tonight at 7 p.m.
    In D, Central Aroostook is in sixth place with a 7-4 record and 33.5884 tournament index entering last night’s home game against Fort Fairfield, which is currently 10th at 4-6-1 and 12.8614 tourney index. Washburn holds onto the seventh position with its 7-3-1 mark and 30.5060 tourney index.
    Ashland (16th, 1-10-1, 4.7832), Easton (17th, 3-8, 4.1156) and Limestone-MSSM (1-8, 3.7202) are all long-shots for qualifying for the playoffs.
    Summaries of games played through Saturday follow:
    Presque Isle 4, John Bapst 1 – Wilder York scored a first- half goal, while Josh Allen, Jacob Player and Isaac Lajoie tallying in the second half Saturday as the Wildcats won impressively over the host Crusaders.
    Allen, Caleb Mathers and Andrew Legassie had assists for the winners, while Andrew Kofstad saved two of three shots in goal for Presque Isle.
    Ashland 3, Van Buren 1 – On Friday in Presque Isle, the Hornets managed to pick up their first win of the season behind Royce MacDonald’s hat trick.
    Kenny Tarr and Keith Holmes had assists for Ashland. Goalkeeper Tyler Chasse turned away 18 of 19 shots.
    Madawaska 7, Fort Fairfield 1 – At Fort Fairfield Thursday, Jon Lee and Ian Lee combined for four goals as the Owls improved to 7-4 with the win. Travis Noyes scored the lone goal for the Tigers, with Jay Williams getting the assist. Chris Weeks made 15 of 2 shots in goal for Fort Fairfield.
    Fort Fairfield 5, Limestone-MSSM 3 – Noyes found the back of the net four times last Tuesday in Limestone, leading his team to the victory. Williams also scored for Fort, with Weeks saving three of six shots in goal.
