Corneil, Phillip Sr., 80, October 6, 2010.
Phillip Corneil Sr. passed peacefully Oct. 6 while watching Jeapordy with his wife, Gladys (Curtis) Corneil, of 54 years at his side. He was born Nov. 22, 1929. Phillip graduated from Oakfield High School and Barber School in 1950. He served as a Sgt. in the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He worked for the B&A Railroad for 44 years.
Phillip was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ruby (Garcelon) Corneil; his sister, Dorothy Atkins, and his brother, Harold Corneil. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Curtis) Corneil, Ruby White and her husband Steve, Phillip Corneil Jr. and his wife Patti (Nelson), and John Corneil, all of Smyrna Mills; twin sister, Phyllis Ziemke and her husband Walter of Neenah, Wis; sister, Marion Willard of Middleboro, Mass; granddaughters, Jill White and significant other Matthew Furrow; Kim (White) McLaughlin and husband Dean, Jodi (Corneil) Deabay and husband Chad, Janet (Corneil) Burpee and husband Matt, Tawni Corneil, and Jessica Barnett; great-grandchildren Jaci and Camryn Deabay, Matthew Furrow, Hunter and Dylan Burpee; several nieces and nephews.
At Phillip’s request, there will be no services.
Papa was a quiet man, but all who knew him will always have a prank to remember him by. “Love you and sure am going to miss you, Papa!”
