The Maine Trombone Collective is a gathering of excellent trombonists from around the state of Maine. The Collective appears throughout the year in various venues in Maine, playing music in all styles, constantly pushing the limits of what is possible with a group of trombonists, and generally having a great time. Members of the group include college students and professors, local music educators, symphony musicians, freelance trombonists, and others. This year, the Maine Trombone Collective has performed at the first annual Trombone Day at UMaine, Maine Summer Youth Music, and also at the 25th annual “Mostly for Fun” Bucksport Trombone Concert. The concert in Houlton will feature thirteen trombones, piano, bass and drums performing unique jazz arrangements.
