The high school golf season wrapped up earlier this month with the state championship tournaments at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro Oct. 9 and 16.
Fort Fairfield placed sixth in the Class C team event Oct. 9, which included 10 teams. Scoring for the Tigers were Tyler Churchill, 91; Noah Bernard, 95; Billy Weissman, 103; and Landon Towle, 106.
The individual tourney was held Oct. 16. Matt Kamm of Caribou shot an 89 in the Class B event, while Brandon Clark of Fort Fairfield carded a 105 in the Class C competition.
The Vikes had wrapped up their regular season with a home match against Presque Isle Sept. 28. Ben Wyman was the medalist with a 41. Kamm came in with a 42, followed by Caleb Chapman with a 46, Cory Rideout with a 47 and Reggie Rideout with a 49.
Kamm shot an 85 at the Penobscot Valley Conference championships held at JaTo Highlands in Lincoln Sept. 30 to qualify to the individual state tournament.
