Juniors host Friday
PRESQUE ISLE – The final home game of the middle school football season will be played “Friday Night Lights” style under the lights at Northern Maine Community College with kickoff at 7 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 29. Some players and officials have nicknamed the game the “Trick or Treat” Bowl.
Aroostook Middle School Football is in its third year of operation and is concluding a successful season with the final game to be spotlighted with a broadcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 9. Fans of football action should come out for the game at the athletic field of Northern Maine Community College and show their support to these young players. The game will pit the Presque Isle area Junior Huskies and the Houlton area Junior Knights in what should be an exciting game.
Time Warner Cable is a proud sponsor of the Aroostook Middle School Football League and league officials wish express their gratitude to Tom Wilson, manager of the cable company, for him and his crew volunteering to put together a broadcast that will increase awareness of the program and allow these young players to showcase the football skills they have learned this past season.
The last time the Junior Huskies hosted a game was Oct. 16 and the contest was a back-and-forth battle between two high-powered offenses, with a last-second interception and return for a touchdown ending the contest. The Time Warner Cable Junior Huskies will be looking to avenge that loss and improve their record to finish out the season.
