PRESQUE ISLE — Theresa Fowler, executive director of the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce, was honored for being named Maine Chamber Executive of the Year Oct. 27, at a gathering at the PIACC attended by city officials and chamber members.

Chamber President Nola Farley welcomed those who attended in support of Fowler.
“We’re here to honor Theresa’s countless hours of service to the many communities she serves,” said Farley.
Fowler was humbled by the event.
“I don’t deserve this. This (the statewide honor) belongs to the community and the board,” said Fowler.
“I’m rather upset I got this so early in my career. What will I do from now on?” questioned Fowler. “I appreciate and am humbled to be recognized in this manner.”
To mark the occasion, Fowler was presented with a clock plaque by Aaron Kouhoupt, Esq., compliance officer, on behalf of Katahdin Trust Company.
In other chamber news, the Maine Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives announced Oct. 28 its list of officers representatives to the MACCE Board for 2010-11.
“The MACCE recently met in Presque Isle for their annual fall meeting. This three-day conference was attended by chamber leaders throughout Maine and was hosted by the PIACC,” said Mike McClellan, MACCE director.
McClellan said Fowler was one of those chosen to serve for the coming year.
“Selections for the various positions were made by peers. Theresa was among those members selected to serve the 2010-11 term. She was chosen as regional representative for Region 1 which encompasses Aroostook and Piscataquis counties,” said McClellan.

RECOGNIZED — When Theresa Fowler, executive director of the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce, was recently named Maine Chamber Executive of the Year, her friends, Kim Smith, this year’s Citizen of the Year, and Billie Brodsky, this year’s PIACC Director of the Year, thought they’d have a little fun. Smith and Brodsky purchased matching tiaras and donned sashes with their respective titles, crowning Fowler during a recent gathering in her honor. Pictured from left are Smith, Fowler and Brodsky.
