Senior golf concludes

The Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Association held its final tournament at Presque Isle Country Club on Sept. 16.

Winner of the President’s Trophy (best four gross score average) was Warren Walker of VaJoWa and runner-up Gary Greene of Covered Bridge. The Governor’s Trophy (best four net score average) went to Caribou’s Eric Scott, with the runner-up Ken Delano of VaJoWa. The winner of the Bud Survant Trophy for Super Seniors (75 and older) who put together the best three gross score average was Elmer Pelletier of Fort Kent and runner-up Philip Pelletier of Fort Kent.

During the last tournament of the season, Walker of VaJoWa shot a low gross score of 67 and Martin Theriault of Grand Falls had the low net score of 65.

Division A gross winners were: Walker, 67; Dave Plourde, Edmundston, 78 and Dave MacFarlane, Edmundston, 78. Net, Dan Hotham, Presque Isle, 66; Jacques Garant, Grand Falls, 73 and Marcell Pelletier, Edmundston, 74.

Division B gross winners: Dale Plourde, Caribou, 83; Ron Arbeau, Covered Bridge, 84 and Wilson Patterson, Covered Bridge, 86. Net, Gerald Culberson, Covered Bridge, 71; Russ Bouchard, Presque Isle, 73 and Dana Caron, Limestone, 73.

Division C gross winners: Guy Raymond, Fort Kent, 85; Joe Zubrick, Presque Isle, 86 and Galen Thompson, Caribou, 89. Net, John Manter, Aroostook Valley, 68; Blair Keirstead, Woodstock, 72 and Dave Wilcox, Aroostook Valley, 74.

Division D gross winners were: Eric Scott, Caribou, 85; Blake Buck, Presque Isle, 90 and Danval Libby, Portage, 90. Net, Willis Glew, Long Lake, 70; Elton Thibodeau, Presque Isle, 71 and Mike Vaillancourt, Grand Falls, 72.

Division E gross winners: Al Giberson, Presque Isle, 93; Guy Hanks, Mars Hill, 95 and Herb Williamson, 97. Net, Duncan Mackenzie, Mars Hill, 68; Rex Clark, Woodstock, 72 and Cliff Boaz, Limestone, 75.

Division F gross winners: Freeman Deabay, Portage, 99; Ed Avery, Presque Isle, 100 and Lou Calabrese, Presque Isle, 105. Net, Martin Theriault, Grand Falls, 65; Ron Fournier, Portage, 69 and Deane Lambert, Caribou, 71.
